The Idiomatic Phrase You Thought You'd Thought Of But We Got There First
- christmas faffing
christmas faffing is best described by the following lyric by Jean Michele George "Last Christmas I gave you my heart and the very next day, I took it back and gave it to someone else."
Christmas faffing is the act of giving a gift of love only to take it back and give it to someone else.
It is also used colloquially by non-Christmas shoppers to describe the traffic flow on most high
streets caused by Christmas shoppers i.e. "I was in town today and I couldn't get into Boots for all the Christmas faffing".
